This is not a text about how to wash bedding. It is about one hour in August, around noon, when a tumble dryer and an air conditioner fight each other inside the same apartment. If you rent out in Mostar, you know that hour.
The hour where everything jams
A guest checks out at ten, the next arrives at two. The washer starts around half past ten. The dryer at twelve. Outside it is forty-one degrees, and in that same room you are trying to get down to twenty-four with the air conditioning.
This is not an exaggeration or one bad day. In August 2026 Mostar had nine consecutive days at or above forty degrees, and on the sixth of August the station measured 42.5. Nine days of the same problem at the same hour.
This is where a problem starts that has nothing to do with effort and everything to do with physics. A condenser dryer releases all the heat it pulls out of the laundry into the room it stands in. A vented one needs an outlet through a wall or window, and an apartment usually has nowhere to put one. A heat-pump dryer is the gentlest of the three, and it still heats.
In the room a guest walks into in two hours, one appliance is heating and another is cooling, against each other, at the hottest part of the day.
Professional dryers are a different story, but they belong in a laundry room, not in the apartment you rent out. A household dryer in an apartment in summer is not a solution. It is an extra heater.
So the apartment is hottest exactly when the guest arrives
The air conditioning cannot catch up with what the dryer added. The guest opens the door and walks into a room that is warm and full of moisture. The first thing they notice is not cleanliness, it is stuffiness.
No review ever calls it a dryer. It gets written up as stuffy, as a smell, or as if the place had not been aired. And it lands in the cleanliness score, even though you cleaned the apartment down to the last corner.
It does dry outside, just not the way it seems
July sun dries a sheet in two hours, that much is true. What the calculation leaves out:
- You are not there to take it down in time, because you are at another apartment or another address
- Dust, pollen and whatever the wind carries land on a sheet hanging outside
- In Mostar a sheet in full sun loses its colour over a season and turns rough
A Mostar summer has two problems
This is the part that gets lost when you read advice written for somewhere else. There, a dryer is the answer. In a Mostar summer it is not.
The first problem is the heat. The second is the schedule: guests change almost every day, and washing, drying and preparing the space all have to fit into the four hours between check-out and check-in. When two or three check-outs land on the same morning, one washing machine cannot keep up.
Capacity is not measured by the month. It is measured by the worst morning of the season.
One washing machine is one apartment
In the four hours between two guests, one washer and one dryer cover one apartment, and only if somebody is there the whole time to move the load from one machine to the other. Two apartments in the same window is not a question of effort, it is a question of how many machines you own.
So people with three units are not struggling because they are disorganised. They are struggling because one machine cannot physically be in three places.
What the electricity bill does not show
In season the washer and dryer run two or three times a day, and the dryer is one of the biggest consumers in the apartment. It runs at the same time as the air conditioning, during the day, when power costs more.
We will not quote you a figure, because yours is different from ours. Take your July and August bill and compare it with April. That is the only calculation in this text, and it is already in your post.
In winter the problem simply moves
In November and December there is neither sun nor schedule pressure, but laundry takes two days to dry. Dried indoors, the moisture goes into the room, windows fog up, and in an apartment nobody airs out it leaves a smell that a guest mentions in the first line of their review.
When you do not need a laundry service
We do not sell the service to people who do not need it, because that client leaves in two months. If this is your situation, you have a solution without us:
- You have one unit and the time to look after it
- Your washer and dryer are outside the space you rent out, in a garage or another flat
- You only rent off-season, when guests change twice a month
When you do need it
- You have three or more units
- Several check-outs fall in the same morning
- You rent in July and August, when guests change almost every day
- You run a cafe or restaurant alongside, so tablecloths and uniforms come on top of the bedding
- You do not live in the same town as the property
How we handle it
Washing, drying and ironing happen away from your apartment, on equipment built for it. In the room your guest walks into, nothing that generates heat is running.
The dirty load leaves with the team that already came for the turnover, so there is no extra trip and nothing extra to arrange. It comes back washed, ironed and folded on a day agreed in advance, including the Saturday when ten units change over in the same morning.
Two sets of bedding stay two, because the third one only ever gets bought to cover the day the washing did not get done. One-off jobs are charged per piece or per kilo, regular work by contract. Ironing can be taken on its own, without the cleaning.
Tell us how many check-outs land in the same morning
That is the only number we need to tell you whether we can help and at what price. If you do not need us, we will say so.
